All Known I-WayInfo Reviews
Tucows (20 Sept 2001) I-WayInfo is your electronic guide to gas, food, lodging, medical services, retail stores, and more for every U.S. interstate exit in the continental U.S. Find out if there is a gas station at the next exit, if there is a rest area coming up soon or where a restaurant is located. Look for hospitals, hotels, junctions and even golf courses.
There are over 200,000 businesses and attractions listed, over 15,000 exits and over 47,000 interstate miles.
You have the ability to select and install only the information you need. ZDNet (9 Feb 01) "iWayInfo gives you a comprehensive listing of gas stations, food, lodging, medical care, retail stores, and more for every American interstate exit in the contiguous 48 States. The program consists of a Windows program that selects data sets, and a Palm OS-based viewer program that you use to actually view the data. Because data is included for over 200,000 businesses and attractions, you should select a subset of the main data using the Windows program. Many options for data download are available, such as selecting all of the information for one State, all of the information for a particular Interstate, or getting information for particular Interstates within some States. Once on the Palm handheld, information about local services is easily attained because of sorting into meaningful categories. iWayInfo is an invaluable reference for people driving on American Interstate highways -
it is worth the download."

If you run into a strange glitch like I did, be aware that you
will never find a more helpful provider than the developer of I-Way.

As an overthe road trucker, I am always on the go. Having certainty of what is
ahead is a great asset when running on a tight deadline as many of us do. I have
used and updated iWay Info every year for the past three years, and have found
every update more useful than the last. There is no better product out there for
planning a trip according to your particular needs, or answeriing an emergency,
whatever the case. Thanks again to the developers.

The 2004 version is out, and is better than ever. Now, instead of carrying a
pile of guide books, iWay has almost anything you want to know, right in your
Palm. The program is only exceeded by the excellent support offered if and when
it is needed. My sincere thanks to the "iWay people."

Well done and easy to use, not to mention highly
accurate. Since the demise of eXitsource listings, this has proved
a valuable resource in building my website.

Truly excellent. I bought it before a cross-country drive with my wife, two
young children, and a dog, and it really helped us find what we needed when we
needed it. When we were getting tired, we could search ahead for one of the
hotel chains we knew were pet-friendly. When we wanted food, we could look ahead
to see what was near, so we didn't have to settle for what was at the next exit.
Very impressive and easy to use.

Worth the money. Using to travel on the east
coast and is accurate and easy to use. Application was just
a mouse click to install on XP and my M130.

Simply a travel wizard! The saying goes,
"You never know what's around the corner." Well, with this
program, you do! Many times on the road we want a certain restuarant for
lunch. Do a quick search and you can see if that
future exit has what you are looking for. Plus, the developer
responds quick to suggestions and help. The perfect
compliment to a GPS!
24-Apr-03 by kaushik nag What a great software! I drive a lot and to tell you the truth can't dream of going out without my palm and this software. The software is extremely intuitive and interactive with some excellent search features and is a great friend to have on the road. Best part is that the developer is always available for any help - something which is unimaginable with others.
09-Jun-02 by Bob Ransom This is a great piece of software -- fast, accurate, and flexible -- that makes those long family roadtrips much easier. It's well worth the money. 12-Mar-02 by Curtis Brewington Great piece of software which improves with each version. A lot better than paper maps and atlases when you are looking for the nearest "Dennys". 28-Jun-01 by Allyn Zelie This is an application that really matches the abilities of a PDA perfectly. Well thought out and unbelievebly handy if you travel at all. The software works great and is easy to use. The developer seems nice also as he alerted me to an upgrade (which isespecially good since I've upgraded to the M505). I highly recommend this software for purchase, I use this App all the time! 26-Jun-01 by Susan Paul I am a biker and log between 25000 and 30000 miles a year (despite living in Minnesota, where the biking season is somewhat shorter than in other states). While I usually try to avoid interstates, they are still my quickest way to get to a particular area thatI really want to ride. This little program has proved its usefulness not only in helping me figure out where to go to get a motel room for the night, but more importantly, figuring out what exits to avoid when my fuel tank is on reserve and I'm not seeing a lot of gas station signs. VERY good info to have when you consider that motorcycle boots are not made for walking... 14-Jun-01 by John-Mark Stensvaag Blindingly fast. Beautifully executed. This software delivers just what it promises: detailed information about the services available at each and every exit on the Interstate Highway System. The author is immediately available by e-mail, and quickly responds to all questions. If you travel on the interstate, particularly with a family, this is "must-have" software. 06-May-01 by Emory Petrack I just got back from a week road trip with the family- first chance to really use the program. It *really* is wonderful- being able to easily locate those Starbucks, etc. And when the kids crank out, also a great help! It is incredibly flexible, in that you can download (through its conduit) exactly the combination of states, highways, and services that you want. The information provided includes all common restaurants, many chain stores, gas stations, hotels, etc, which can easily be looked up by exit number, mile marker, etc. Or, you can just see *all* services available at any particular exit or highway rest stop. For those who travel by highway, it is indispensable! 19-Mar-01 by harry dorcy I waited to put this app to use before writing a review. I took it with me on my spring break road trip, and i found it absolutely invaluble. the ease with which we could find ANYTHING we needed along the freeway made this app priceless. it easily saves me hours and hours of searching exits for a Krystals. thanks!! 03-Mar-01 by Keith Kettel Outstanding! This is the first software app that has moved me to ink a review, even though I am on my 4th Palm device and over my 100th Palm application in use. Previously I used a laptop and CD-ROM to accomplish what this gem gets done. It answers your questions whether a regular traveler or just on the occasional trip. I'm amazed all that information even for the entire state (OH for instance) takes so little room! 01-Mar-01 by Pete Sloan Great idea and very well done. A must for vacations or road warriors. I've been using this for a while now and it's easy and fast. Need to know the next exit with a particular hotel? Or how long the kids need to wait till the next McDonalds? This program tells you what's at the exit and which direction it is. 27-Feb-01 by Thane Schaffer Great product! I can't believe how nice it is going to make family travel. Just last year we were doing a long haul between Portland and San Francisco. For about a 2 hour stretch all I heard was continuous whining about where is the next KFC. We want KFC for dinner. And of course, California highway department isn't as enlightened as other states to place highway markers of what is available at the next exit. So, you seldom know what is available until after it passes you by! This little tool will really aid in satisifying last minute cravings and making decisions about what do to about it when you are far from home! 15-Feb-01 by Curtis Brewington Very nice text-based program for letting you know what's at the next exit off the interstate. Beats having a laptop with MapInfo installed when all you want to know is where the next rest stop and what brands of gas are available. The search facilities are very handy. Another item to add to the arsenal of every road-warrior! Add graphics to get another star. Handango.com

I-Way Info
Review Maryland August 3,
2006 Very nice program. I'd like to see it enhanced to add more
"Routes" (like Rt. 50, Rt 2, etc..). Perhaps for the future even
real-time traffic updates!!! This would be awesome.
Extremely helpful when traveling Mary from Indianapolis, Indiana March 7, 2003 I downloaded the trial version of
I-wayInfo before we went on a trip to Florida. We encountered numerous problems on the trip with traffic backups. I-WayInfo was a lifesaver! On the way home, we ran into a 6 hour backup, and were able to see what hotels were coming up, and make a reservation over the phone. If we had not been able to do that, we would most likely have had to sleep in the car, or drive all night. I've now purchased the product, and it's great!
Remarkable Product Derek Farmer from Maple Shade, NJ July 13, 2002 I just downloaded the trial version yesturday, and i like it enough to buy it right now. Keep up the good work derek
UPGRADE FROM 1 STAR TO 5 STARS+ raptor73@earthlink.net from Newport News, VA January 11, 2002 This is an update to an earlier e mail that i wrote. At the time i was havingdifficulty loading the full version over the trial version. Derek the programmer (i presume) e mailed me in less than 24 hrson how to fix my problem. I now fully upgrade my original one star rating to a 5 star. The program is almost perfect, missing some things that i thought would be handy like phone #/ address' etc. Also some interstates are missing, I664 in VA for example. Other than that its a great product and i highly recomend its purchase. Hopefully Derek can find a way to add those phone # to the database!! Keep up the good work Derek and thanks for your help!
Great program but HELP!!!! raptor73@earthlink.net from Newport News, VA January 10, 2002 I put the trial version on my PDA first (every other exit is not accesable) loved it so i purchased the full version $14.95 as stated above. Now here is the big frustrating problem I can not get my PDA to accept the Full Version, it keeps reading triasl version. I have uninstalled the PC trial and deleted the PDA twice now. Each time i go to install the full version my PDA (Visor DEluxe) still reads as trial.Does anyone else know how to fix this. I want to give it 5 stars but im giving it 1 so maybe someone will notice this and respond!! (Please see review above this one - same person)
LOVE i-WayInfo! cindra@packerscrazy.com from Saginaw, Michigan September 30, 2001 I love the program. Use it all the time while traveling, and it recently saved me from a big traffic tie-up by allowing me to take a different exit. I highly recommend it! Contratulations!
An incredibly useful Palm application. Fort Collins, CO September 19, 2001 Every bit as complete and comrehensive as the "Next Exit" book, but with the convenience of the Palm. Their application support system is second to none. I'd waited quite some time for the Palm implementation of this book and now that it's here, it exceeds my expectations. Contratulations!
Absolutely *great* for road warrior or family trip Cleveland, OH May 6, 2001 I just got back from a week road trip with the family- first chance to really use the program. It *really* is wonderful- being able to easily locate those Starbucks, etc. And when the kids crank out, also a great help! A must have for the road warrior or family on vacation Macon, GA March 1, 2001 If you are going on vacation or spend a lot of time in your car this program has the information you need. It will tell you what exit your favorite hotel is at, or how long the kids will have to wait for a McDonalds. Easy to use and fast. The best thing is it even tells you which direction to go at the exit. Now if they could just add all the speedtraps.....
Worth The Download! Mount Vernon, NY February 16, 2001
Very complete package for the road-warrior. The only thing I wish they included was a more graphical layout. The search functions alone save a lot of frustration by knowing what is available and how far off the beaten path you will have to go.
Great Idea that works! Pine City, Minnesota February 13, 2001
The information seems very accurate (checking around the Twin Cities, MN area anyhow). Not only is it useful, it's one of those apps that makes those with Palms who see it want it, and those without Palms wish they had one. A must for road trips and vacations. PDAStreet.com
top of the line!! Shade,
NJ April 25, 2001 I am so glad that i found out about this product. I have never seen anything come even close to it.If you own a PDA then treat yourself to this Unbelieveable product. I promise you it will be the "Best $20.00 you ever spent."
Useful around home, but a real hit on vacation! Pine City, MN April 25, 2001 I have used iWayInfo for a little while now and am very pleased with the program and the support I have received! On a recent trip across country (4000+ miles) with 4 motorhomes, my Palm (with iWayInfo) was a real hit when locating Wal-Marts or KrispyKreams! Very accurate and very useful. Worth every penny! Good job.
Great Program..... except...... Submitted by: Sparky February 10, 2001 As lifetime road warrior, I welcome anything that makes my life easier. This is a simple, easy to use program. so far, the information is accurate (other than a couple of typos)and you can sort by highway, state, or type of business. I was so impressed the first time I tried it, I decided to buy it. One problem. The registration/purchase info is nowhere in the software! Either on the PC or handheld versions. Nor is there a website listed. They can make a fortune on this program if they would just allow us to give them money! |
