Trouble-Shooting

 

I've just installed the updated version of I-WayInfo over an older version of
I-WayInfo. The first time I try to run it on my Palm, it freezes and needs to be reset.

Try the following:

  1. If it exists, run 'UnInstall.exe' in the I-WayInfo Installation folder.
  2. Close the HotSync® Manager.
  3. From the Windows Taskbar, right-click on the HotSync® Manager icon.
  4. Select 'Exit' from the pop-up menu.
  5. From the Windows Taskbar
    • Select 'Start'
    • Select 'Settings'
    • Select 'Control Panel'
    • Double-click on 'Add/Remove Programs'
    • If it exists, ...
    • Select 'I-WayInfo'
    • Select 'Add/Remove'
    • Follow instructions
  6. If it exists, delete the I-WayInfo Installation folder and its contents.
  7. Search your entire harddrive for the following files, and delete them.
    • iWayInfo.dll
    • iWayInfo.ini
    • --------------------------------------------

      1. Open a Windows Explorer
      2. Right click on 'Local Disk (C:)'
      3. Select 'Search'
      4. Enter 'iWayInfo.dll' in the 'Search for files or folders named:' text box.
      5. In the 'Look in:' dropdown listbox, select 'Local Harddrives'
      6. Hit the button.
      7. Delete all instances of iWayInfo.dll that show up.
      8. Repeat steps 4-7 with 'iWayInfo.ini'.

  8. Re-install I-WayInfo.

I can create a DataSet using the I-WayInfo Data Installer, but after HotSyncing twice I still can't load the DataSet onto my Palm® handheld.

Try the following:

  1. Click on the HotSync icon (red and blue arrows chasing each other) in your Window's toolbar. 
  2. Select 'Custom'
  3. Is 'I-WayInfo' listed as a conduit?
    • No - Run Install.exe in the I-WayInfo installation folder.
  4. Is the action 'Desktop overwrites handheld'?
    • No - Select I-WayInfo, then hit the 'Change'button. Change to 'Desktop overwrites handheld', and make sure the 'Set as default' checkbox IS checked.

If the DataSet still does not load into the Palm® handheld:

Download and install the latest version of the Palm Desktop from the following link...

I purchased and installed the full release version of I-WayInfo, but I still only see every other exit.

Try the following:

  1. Run UnInstall.exe in the I-WayInfo installation folder (usual path is
    C:\Program Files\I-WayInfo).
  2. Open the Control Panel (Start --> Settings --> Control Panel).
  3. Run 'Add/Remove Programs'.
  4. Select 'I-WayInfo'.
  5. Click on the 'Add/Remove' button, and follow directions.
  6. Delete the I-WayInfo installation folder.
  7. Reinstall the full release version of I-WayInfo.
